Round Valley Roundabout

This moderately hilly 28.6 mile circuit circumnavigates the cool waters of the Round Valley Reservoir and some of its outlying areas. You’ll enjoy winding country roads, passing through the rustic hamlets of Oldwick and Stanton, where you can stop for a bite to eat, and take in the sights and sounds of this picturesque area of Hunterdon County.

Where to start your ride: The route begins at the East Whitehouse Firehouse on Old Highway 28, just off Route 22 in Whitehouse. Parking is available across from the firehouse. The tour can also begin at the Round Valley Recreation Area, which has ample parking.

Other local bike tours: Last Covered Bridge, The D&R Canal Tow Path Ride, Lamington River Ride, Columbia Trail

Awesome country roads. Rockaway Rd was surprisingly beautiful. You can only see the Reservoir from a couple miles of the route so if you want to enjoy that, you'll actually have to go down into the park. Gourmet Expressions was a remarkably nice place for a hamlet the size of Mountainville. Friendly folks.
