Kick Off Your Green Fair or Green Challenge with a Film!

Inspire your community! Sustainable Hunterdon has acquired the public screening rights to three highly motivating environmental films. The films are available for loan, free of charge, to any Hunterdon municipality interested in hosting a screening. Film screenings are a great way to launch a Green Challenge (10 pts) or to kick off a Green Fair (10 pts). A brief description and trailer for each film is listed below, along with a few "green challenge" ideas. To reserve a film for your upcoming Green Event, contact Tara Shepherd, 908-788-5553.

The D&R Canal Tow Path Ride

Cyclists of all ages and skill levels will enjoy the D&R Canal Towpath Ride. The path is surfaced with compacted grit, providing a smooth enjoyable ride. You’ll travel alongside the beautiful Delaware River past historic lockkeeper houses, stone arched culverts and an range of wildlife. Along the way, you can visit the quaint “river towns” of Frenchtown, Stockton and Lambertville. Stop for a bite to eat, visit interesting shops, or just chat with the locals.

Where to start your ride: There are many access points along the towpath. Starting in Frenchtown, you leave your car in the park and ride lot at Front & Bridge Streets. There are also several parking areas as you travel along Route 29 from Frenchtown to Lambertville.

Took another great ride last weekend, leaving Frenchtown toward Lambertville and back again. So relaxing. Stopped at Elizabeth Gilbert's "Two Buttons" store and Lovin Oven for a bite to eat. Gorgeous day. :)

Via Ponte in in Stockton is a great place to stop for Pizza or salad. Stop in for a light lunch or use it as a reward at the end of the ride

I love this ride! So relaxing, and great little towns to stop at along the way. Start in Frenchtown, continue to Stockton, and Lambertville.

What a relaxing ride! I took the trail from Frenchtown to Bulls Island. It was such a nice, flat trail. My 13 year old son rode with me and had no problems. I highly recommend!
