Building a Prototype

Now that your students have learned about gears, how they work, and how to find a good ratio let’s see what they remember. In this lesson students are provided with all of the materials that they will need to build a working prototype. They will be provided ample time to design, build, and test their vehicles to achieve optimum effectiveness. Following their completion of building their vehicle they will participate in a race with their classmates to see who designed the best car (time permitting).
